Music

At Wygate Park Academy we recognise that music is a universal language that embodies one of the highest forms of creativity.

A high-quality music education should engage and inspire pupils to develop a love of music and their talent as musicians, and so increase their self-confidence, creativity, and sense of achievement. We provide a progressive curriculum that develops children’s skills in listening to, understanding composition, and performing musical pieces, that encourages active listening and critical evaluation of a range of genres and styles.

Children will have the opportunity to express themselves through improvising and performing, gaining understanding and appreciation of music as a form of artistic expression. We encourage collaboration and teamwork through group performances, fostering a sense of unity and shared achievement.
