PSHE

At Wygate Park Academy we weave PSHE into our everyday school life and teach learning explicitly through Jigsaw PSHE. 

We aim to have children leaving our school compassionate, empathetic and tolerant individuals. Children are taught to be understand and accept all cultures found within and outside of our school, promoting a No Outsiders approach throughout the school celebrating diversity. We aim to create a school-wide climate where children learn to monitor and understand their own feelings and show compassion towards others. We promote positive mental health and wellbeing within our school, encouraging children to develop their own self-worth by involving themselves within the school community.

PSHE within our school also works to develop the children’s understanding of health and fitness, the children are given access to knowledge to make informed decision concerning diet and exercise. We also work to ready children for the changes that take place as they develop from children to adults both physically and emotionally.
